Hope that many of you will be able to attend. The opening is February 12, 2016.
We are super excited and thank Dale Clark for his drone photography, Amy Hall for her cello performance, Sam Houston for the sculptures as well as the sound tech work.
And of course, Deryk Houston and Richard Leblanc!
Oh yeah, I have helped out a bit too 🙂

We couldn’t be happier about how things went on the planting days. After a short cold snap we had two gorgeous sunny and warm late-November days for digging and planting. Then, just when the freshly planted trees needed lots of water – the rain started. We added a couple of gallons of water to each tree anyway – just to be sure. It was kind of funny hauling buckets of water in the rain! Snow is predicted soon (being lower Vancouver Island, it probably won’t last long).
Hopefully these pictures give a bit of an idea of how it looks now.

We never stop loving how beautiful it is here
Next we’ll be bringing out the bench.

Good to have work from both the guys on display today. And interesting to see how much love there is for John Lennon. So many people were drawn to his image and many took photos of their friends standing next to it.
One woman had his self-portrait tattoed on her ankle! So we knew she was serious when she said she’s an admirer.

Deryk’s “John Lennon” series will be seen at Bubby Rose on Cook St for the month of August.

Deryk and our son Samuel have created something very special for the nearby town of Sidney. It was installed yesterday and we went out last night to see it. It’s 23 ft tall and it was stunning under the full moon.
These are just snapshots.
We’ll go back today to get some really good photographs.
Update: We went back and here’s what Deryk posted and wrote:
