Laura Walker’s Nine Reasons (and my 10th)

Laura Walker’s “Nine great reasons why teachers should use Twitter” has some thoughts that apply to educators outside of the classroom as well as inside. I love her concepts of trusted friends, instant feedback, constructive criticism, questioning one’s own practice and quality-assured searching, not to mention the discipline and reflection that comes with producing tweets for the world to view.

And here’s a related but slightly different 10th reason:
For those of us who work on behalf of others (policy makers, administrators etc.) the lens of twitter allows us to see “how things work” in ways we simply couldn’t know otherwise. Data that we might have never thought to collect is flowing out to us with abundance!
